CARE Academy Information

CARE Academy is a global resource for learning that helps individuals acquire knowledge, skills and tools to be successful in their jobs at CARE. CARE Academy offerings are available to all CARE staff, sister INGOs, local NGOS and project participants.

The Academy's e-learning programs and workshops address skills and information that are critical to CARE's mission.

MANAGERS
This session will give you the information and skills you need to use the electronic apaa (e-apaa). In this 90 minute session we will share the basics of e-apaa and also give you advanced electronic tools to help you coach and develop your employees.

EMPLOYEES
This session is designed to help you navigate the electronic apaa system - e-apaa. This one hour session will give you a good overview about the best way for you to use the system to track your progress, make notes about your performance and to use the system for your self review.

This three-hour, self-paced online course provides the basic steps a humanitarian worker must take to ensure gender equality in programming. The course includes information on the core issues of gender and how it relates to other aspects of humanitarian response. This training is based on the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Gender Handbook and related IASC guidelines, including the Guidelines for Gender-based Violence Interventions in Humanitarian Settings and others. Users will receive a certificate upon completion of the course.

The IASC consists of 21 humanitarian organizations and is the primary humanitarian forum for facilitating coordination, policy development and decision-making in response to complex emergencies and natural disasters.

It is that time of year-Time for planning! Here are some materials to help you complete your eAPAA for the year. The updated Competency Development Planning Guide and the Management Standards PowerPoint presentation are great resources to help you effectively create your goals and objectives. The Competency Development Guide is designed to help you and your manager identify development activities that will assist you in building your organizational competencies. The guide provides suggestions on ways to build skill, examples of development activities, and suggestions on reading materials and workshops. The Management Standards PowerPoint provides an introduction and explanation around the management standards at CARE.

This course provides an overview of traumatic stress and humanitarian work and will help you:
